ABOUT OUR SURGEONS
The fellowship-trained sports medicine specialists at Orlando Orthopaedic Center’s Sports Medicine Center are board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and, in some cases, double-board certified in their fields. They are committed to the belief that the same quality care made available to professional athletes exists for any athlete of any age or level.
WHAT SETS US APART
Our surgeons focus on caring for and helping the youth athletes of Central Florida. They serve as team physicians for several local high schools, Bethune-Cookman University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Our doctors also have served as team physicians for the NFL, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Seminole State College, and Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba. They also provide expert local coverage for the athletes at the U.S. Tennis Association National Campus in Lake Nona. Our physician assistants, Lynn Tuller, Melissa Worsfold, Derek Zefo, and Michael Monteagut have extensive experience in Sports Medicine. They are integral to our team, assisting in the office, field, and operating room.
ACADEMIC AFFILIATIONS
Our sports medicine physicians teach advanced sports medicine surgical skills to practicing orthopaedic surgeons and give educational talks to healthcare professionals such as athletic trainers and physical therapists. They continue to publish clinical research studies and started the Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation, which provides research and education and helps financially disadvantaged youth participate in youth sports programs through the “Give Kids Sports” campaign.
